5 decades of weightloss

When I started this journey I was in the 190's and gradually I have seen my weight fall through the 180's, 170's, 160's and finally in the 150's and LESS THAN 10 LBS away from my goal! I never thought this day would come.

I ran into a girlfriend this weekend that I hadn't seen since the summer and she literally said- you look like a different person. Until I look at pictures, I really don't see a huge difference because I look in the mirror every day and see myself. However, where I am noticing my weight loss is my clothes. I pretty much had to get an entire new wardrobe which is not a problem for me. I have always had a shopping problem but before I would get frustrated because nothing fit or I didn't feel comfortable or I was too embarrassed to actually purchase the size that did fit. Now... EVERYTHING fits....EVERYTHING feels comfortable...and I want to buy EVERYTHING.

I went shopping this past weekend with my best friend and out of habit I went to the L and XL racks and was picking up shirts and she walked over with shirts that were Smalls and Mediums and a dress that was a size 6. I looked at her like she was crazy but because she was so persistent I tried them all on and they ALL fit. Just a little comparison-- my prom dress senior year of HIGH SCHOOL was a size 6.

The stress I was having about getting dressed has disappeared and now I have so many outfits I want to do wardrobe changes halfway through the night. The feeling of standing in front of my closet and having so many options to wear is overwhelming, amazing, and ridiculously validating to my life style change.

This is my "holy crap I can't believe I was that big" picture.

This is my "I've lost 20 lbs and now I feel confident" picture.

This is my "I've lost 40 lbs picture and want to look like this for the rest of my life" picture!

Every time I go to my nutritionist, he always asks:
"what would I rate my motivation out of 10?"
My answer is a 15.

I am 7 lbs away from my goal. I don't know why the last 10 lbs are the hardest. Dr. Ogilvie compared it to building a house. Once you get the foundation and walls put up (40 lbs lost) then comes the nit picky, specifics (last 10 lbs).
